Our booths usually have people smiling and posing for their pictures, but this time, Close Up wanted to give the people of Dubai even more reasons to smile – and capture them too.
As part of Close Up’s new toothpaste promotion, our iboothme video booth was used at their 2 week long mall activation to:
1- Record HD videos that were then sent to respective customers.
2- Build the brand’s database (names, email id, age, etc).
3- Boost their Facebook fan page.
The funny mall activation which took place at Deira City Centre was all about making the country smile by inviting them to share their very own jokes at our video booth – all for the chance to have comedian Badr host the comedy show ‘Close Up Eysh Elly’ in their city.
Each joke recorded was instantly shared via email, through which they could also be shared on social media platforms. And, the city with the most number of jokes would win the grand prize!
Our fully customised video booth packaged in the Close Up brand identity increased the campaign’s reach and helped gather sufficient contest entries in an efficient manner. Simultaneously, we were able to collect valuable consumer data, create buzz and boost the brand’s social media presence – especially on their Facebook fan page: Close Up Arabia.
Stationed near Carrefour at Deira City Centre, our Close Up video booth was a great success with high consumer footfall and queues of people waiting to have their jokes recorded. The stand also doubled as a sampling area, with samples of the new toothpaste being handed out to each and every consumer who stopped by the booth.
We managed to record over 1,000 jokes with 150 consumers who shared their entries on Twitter, and 300 who shared it via Facebook. In just 2 weeks, we covered an average of 55 videos a day! What’s more, not only did our customized booth record funny videos, it also allowed users to ‘like’ the brand page, therefore boosting Close Up’s social media presence.
In a few days, the iboothme video booth helped take the Close Up Arabia Facebook page to soaring new heights, from just 53 likes on 15th May, to 2,698 likes on 25th May.
